The second part of this series features its main character, Harris Hillman "Hag" Lundgren, a first class air force pilot. Though he is quite proud of his abilities, Lundren has been facing trouble with his superior officer and his alcoholic wife. He also must deal with the fact that he will soon take over as an instructor for a flight school at Nellis Air Force Base. With their enemies continuing to grow more dangerous, Shinra and Arthur look to Benimaru Shinmon to push them beyond their limits, trying to have them reach a point called "The Press of Death." With tephrosis on the line, Shinra finally achieves this state and experiences an Adolla Link that shows him Hague's final. Shō becomes more emotional as he reconnects with both Shinra and his lost memories. These emotions are stripped from him by Haumea, who kept him under a state of mind control from then on, but he later awakens them once more.
The 1st Special Fire Brigade takes a stand against the 12th Special Fire Brigade, only to be overpowered by their Adolla Bursts. Shinra rushes to his parents, who are busy making preparations for the operation. Sōichirō is confronted by Gold and is told to repent in preparation for death. Despite this, Shinra eventually achieves "The Press of Death", being able to complete an Adolla Link with his brother's final moments. However, Shō still shows no interest in Shinra himself and requests that he die alone.
